Gormanach House

ormanach House, meaning "House in Green Fields", is located within walking distance of another of our services in Epsom. Epsom is a market town in Surrey, South East England, which is located between Ashtead and Ewell. The house itself is currently a six-bedded property, and all rooms are single occupancy and offer en-suite facilities with either a bath or a shower/wet room. The property benefits from a large, enclosed garden surrounded by picturesque fields and woodland. Bedrooms are decorated according to individual tastes and preferences, promoting individuality and creating a personal space for everyone living at Gormanach House.

On the ground floor there are four communal living areas. There are three separate lounge areas including a quiet space, along with a large airy conservatory adjacent to the dining room. This offers a great deal of choice and space for all of our residents. Our highly trained staff team are on hand to support and promote independence with all aspects of daily living. There is a shared kitchen and dining room area where the residents can be supported with meal preparation and various other activities too. There is also a communal laundry in which residents are encouraged and supported to carry out their own washing and ironing.

Residents at Gormanach House are offered activities of their choice within the local area such as swimming, bowling, cinema, meals out and day trips to places of interest. There are opportunities to attend local colleges and farms as well as participating in various shopping trips. We encourage our residents to be as independent as possible by promoting ownership of the home and aim to provide a friendly, supportive and calm environment that ensures residents feel safe, respected and supported.

Staff at Gormanach House receive initial and ongoing training, along with a six-week induction programme which enables them to gain the knowledge and expertise to support the residents. Staff are also required to complete the Care Certificate and then to progress to a Level 2 diploma in care. Residents' needs are assessed and staffing ratios defined to allow residents to be active members of the community, providing opportunities to access activities of choice.
