Tigh Coilean

igh Coilean is a six bedroom house which is located in South Hykeham, a village in the North Kesteven district of Lincolnshire. The house has a large kitchen area ideal for our young people to get involved in the preparation of their meals, en-suite bedrooms; four located upstairs and two downstairs, and two communal lounges with a conservatory/dining area leading off of one of them. The house has a large secure garden area with multi-access and decking.

The house is situated 20 minutes away from Lincoln by car and is on the main bus route, making Lincoln easily accessible via public transport. The house also has good road and rail links.

Lincoln is a historic city and is known for its historic features as well as the medieval Lincoln Cathedral and Lincoln Castle. Hykeham has all of the expected amenities such as a doctors' surgery, large supermarket, dentist, many restaurants and pubs, sports and leisure centre, whilst many opticians are located in Lincoln centre and a large hospital with A&E facilities is located the other side of Lincoln centre.

Lincoln itself benefits from a large cinema complex, theatre, library, museums, local social evening including a disco for people with disabilities, and of course the castle and cathedral all of which our young people can get involved in and/or visit.

The home is only a ten minute drive from Whisby Nature Park where country walks can be enjoyed.

Staffing at Tigh Coilean is of an extremely high standard. All staff receive regular training that specialises in our young peoples' needs and requirements, and undergo a 6-week induction with the help of a mentor to help ensure the standard of care is consistent throughout. At Tigh Coilean we are passionate about our young people living as fulfilled a life as possible and our high staffing levels enable our young people to partake in many everyday activities within the community as well as getting involved in the running of the home.

We aim to empower and support our young people to reach and develop their potential as individuals and, by encouraging our young people to be as independent as possible, they gain a sense of ownership and belonging within a homely, safe environment.

At Tigh Coilean we treat every young person as an individual, and any plans of care are tailored to fully reflect their personal needs and wishes.

Tigh Coilean means 'House of Fulfilment'.
