Tigh Cranntail

igh Cranntail, meaning "House by Woods", is a 6-bedded detached home set in extensive grounds near to the town of Mansfield in Nottinghamshire. The house is a newly renovated home that provides safe, secure, excellent quality residential care for ten young adults that may have severe to moderate learning disabilities, autism and/or challenging behaviour.

The home comprises of six en-suite bedrooms with availability on the ground and first floors, extensive communal areas with two large lounges, as well as a large dining room and separate kitchen area. The rear garden has lovely views of the surrounding woodland and is set close to King John’s memorial.

Kings Clipstone itself is a small village that was recognised in history as the manor’s strategic position at the heart of Sherwood. The village’s position is still crucial today as it straddles the shortest gap between the northern and central parts of the forest where the River Maun cuts through the forest. It was the available water from the River Maun and the Vicar Water Brook that sustained the medieval village.

There are a wealth of local places to see such as King John’s Palace, Parliament Oak, Archway House, the Flood Dykes, Clipstone Park water meadows and many more. There is access locally to the famous Sherwood Forest and the legend of Robin Hood plays a huge part in the local community. We are ideally placed to benefit from the many local walks and cycling tracks. Mansfield is our nearest town and as such provides all of the local amenities you would expect.

Within Tigh Cranntail we are dedicated to providing a happy and settled home environment for our residents in a comfortable atmosphere that promotes dignity & respect, independence, privacy, fulfilment and choice. We are thoroughly committed in supporting our residents to progress and integrate within the wider community; community presence is very important to us and we utilise all amenities available to us as part of everyday life and the running of the home, which ensures our residents are an integral part of the local community and all it has to offer. We believe every individual has the right to live life to the full and we encourage our residents through support and encouragement to do so. Our residents are given opportunities to continue to learn and develop new skills as well as develop their independence skills. We promote and encourage our residents to be as independent as possible giving them a sense of ownership and belonging within a homely, safe environment.
